So your planning your special day

First Thoughts

It's all about the small details, what colour scheme, the style of dress, how many bridesmaid's, how many is too many, shall we have a  spring, summer, autumn or winter wedding, oh and the wedding cake, how many tiers, fruit, chocolate sponge, Victoria sponge or maybe one of those cheese tiered wedding cakes, the honeymoon, these are often the first thoughts that go through your mind, I know it was mine, then suddenly reality smacks you in the face, where shall we get married, how many guest's,  if we invite them, then we can't invite them, but more importantly how much will all of this cost!!!

It's OK to feel out of your depth, to not understand everything there is to understand about weddings.  Planning a wedding can most definitely be a learning curve, but with good, helpful people around you, you are able to create a day which is perfect for you.

Try not to be a bridezilla because this will cause you to be stressed, achieving your dream wedding is so much easier if you can remain relaxed and level headed. Try to slow down and enjoy planning your special day, remember not to loose sight of your husband to Be's preferences and dreams as it is his special day as well.

It's OK to accept help from other family member's, friends and having a really good maid of honour is like a very rare gem, you have given her a job to do, so allow her to do it and take some of the pressure away from you. So slow down trust in your bridesmaid's and delegate. Whether it's pushing aside some of the out dated traditions or just switching things up a bit, you are going to have to accept help at some point and it doesn't make it any less special if you do. Your day will still be magical and remember it's just one day.  If I have any advise for you it would be to take a few minutes out of every hour to breathe and to savour every moment of your wedding day, and remember to look forward to the day after your wedding day as this is the start of your married life together.

A Few Simple Tips

One of the first things to think about when planning a wedding is your budget. Whether it's £1000 or £100,000, there will always be a wedding venue out there perfect for your needs, and  within budget. Whether you are paying for your own wedding, or sharing the cost with parents, or the parents are funding the whole day themselves.

Find your perfect venue

Once you have found your perfect wedding venue be prompt in starting the ball rolling as some venues can be booked two years in advance. If you choose to get married in church you will need to contact your local Register Office.  If you are planning your wedding abroad be sure to check all the legal requirements, for example 'how long you are required to be resident in that particular country'  and translation documents etc.,

Once you have put all of these plans into place, your whole day should now fall into place.

Wedding insurance

Apparently the average UK wedding cost's anything between £15000 to £20000, if marrying abroad it could be less or more depending on the country of choice etc.,
I know the last thing on your mind is something going wrong, it's not at all romantic to think something could go wrong, however, given the large sum of money invested in the wedding, it might be worth considering 'Wedding Insurance'.  The moment you start spending money on your wedding , insurance could be peace of mind for both your wedding and honeymoon alike.
Now you've secured your wedding venue, perhaps taken out insurance its time to start thinking about the wedding dress.  Many brides discover that once they have bought their dress, they may need alterations. This is enough to make even the strongest of  brides dissolve into tears, so this is something to consider when choosing your wedding dress. Wedding rings and the all important guest list need to be decided, you probably already have an idea of your guest list.
I though of it as though I was designing my ‘family tree’.  Add your names first, then bridesmaid's and best man, and then work downwards in rows starting with the most important people in your life, then add friends,  until you have included everyone you can think of.  don't worry about the actual number of people you have down but  more about not forgetting anyone. Once you are sure you have included everyone, you can start eliminating people off the list,  maybe useful to break your list into daytime and evening guests. You may have to compromise with each other, give and take is most important with regards to the guest list, just remember that this is your day so stand firm with your choices.
Other things to discuss are, wedding stationery, the honeymoon, visa's, vaccinations, photographer, your wedding gift list, a table plan and of course the Hen and Stag nights.
The final Touches
Every ones wedding is unique and special so your final touches will always be veryspecial and sentimental to you.  Its time to decide on your Food,  do you want a  wedding sit down meal or a buffet perhaps a BBQ, its now time to think about what you want. Then of course the speeches and the first dance .
Planning your wedding can be one of the most stressful yet most fun times in your life  make planning your wedding day fun and easy.

I hope this has given some of you planning your wedding an insight into your big day.
Until next time, stay safe and stay fabulous.

Love Lesleyanne xx

I was undergoing a lot of the treatment for example nerve blocks and ...

Hello My Lovelies, LIVING WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS The Old Lady Living In My Bones How It All Started When I was 36 years old I became very unwell, it started with flu like symptoms which rapidly turned into a chest infection, then swiftly upped its game and turned into pneumonia. My hospital stay was fairly lengthy because every antibiotic prescribed to me failed to work, as it turned out I had in fact been infected with Bird Flu.  Once I was treated by the correct named antibiotics the pneumonia cleared quite quickly, but unfortunately I was left with extremely painful joints. The following six months were taken up with regular hospital visits to see the Respiratory Consultant undergoing various tests and monitoring my joint pains.  After the six months of tooing and froing my Consultant explained that although the type of pneumonia I had can leave you with joint pains, but if they continue for any length of time its more than likely to be somet...
